August 2007

Greetings Fellow Farmacists,

King of the Hill

Can we say more? Once again our monthly enroller contest has been dominated by the force that we call, “Dr. Stephen Marofsky.” This guy is on Fire! During June 2007, Stephen, along with his wife Tal, enrolled 101 new enrollees who collectively bought $20.531.00 worth of Wholefood Farmacy products. This is a true testimony to the fact that there are an unbelievably large number of people that are just waiting to be told about the message of the WFF. Dr. Marofsky is a big fan of the new Whole Truth DVD and uses is it constantly. He suggests that you do the same. Hip Hip Hooray for the reigning champion in the King of the Hill monthly enroller contest. (Dr. Marofsky is a practicing chiropractor in Boca Raton, FL )

Second place goes to Linda Ann Ventura, of Rochester NY. Linda Ann enrolled a very impressive 26 new farmacists with a collective volume of $4,336.05. This is amazing. Think about this fact, Linda is in New York and Stephen is in Florida. Do you think that the folks in your state or area are any different? Everyone everywhere is searching for great tasting nutrition. Tell them about the WFF. You will enjoy the rewards. And so will they! Congratulations Linda Ann!

The next winner takes us to the tundra of the midwest. Randy Beck of Sioux Falls, SD. Randy enrolled 17 new enrollees with a total business volume of $2,735.75. See, even in the midwest, people are looking for convenient, whole food snackfoods. Randy is fond of using the internet and does it so well. Congratulations Randy once again.

Tom Zeitler of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, continues the winner’s box with 14 new farmacists enrolled with a volume of $2,837.25. Tom is a moving force and also enjoys the benefits of the enhanced enroller bonus program as he is the sponsor or Dr. Marofsky and others. Way to go Tom. Keep sponsoring and mentoring.

And our final winner hails, Madeira Beach, Florida. Daniel Nikkola turned in an impressive 9 enrollees with a total business volume of $1,772.80 for June. Not bad at all for a relative newcomer during a month that is theoretically slow for the direct selling industry. Thanks for the effort Daniel!

If you would like to find out more about the enroller contest, please contact your upline or visit your priceless WFF website. You are already in contention, just share the message!

A Soda A Day; What You Should Know
Monday, July 23, 2007
By Kathleen Doheny

Drinking just one soft drink a day — whether diet or regular — may boost your risk of getting heart disease, a new study shows. That is because a soda habit increases the risk of developing a condition called metabolic syndrome, according to the new research, and that in turn boosts the chance of getting both heart disease and diabetes. "Even one soda per day increases your risk of developing metabolic syndrome by about 50 percent," says Ramachandran Vasan, MD, professor of medicine at Boston University School of Medicine and the senior author of the study, published in the July 31 issue of the American Heart Association's journal Circulation. To be diagnosed with metabolic syndrome, three of five criteria must be met: a large waistline, elevated blood pressure, elevated fasting blood sugar, elevated fasting triglycerides, or reduced HDL or "good" cholesterol. "This study adds to the wealth of scientific evidence that sugar-sweetened beverages increase the risk of metabolic syndrome," says Vasan. Already, he says, the rise in sugary drink consumption has been linked
to the epidemic of obesity and diabetes among children and teens and to the development of high blood pressure in adults.

Ask Dr. John

Q: When it's really hot, should I avoid exercising outside?

A: We should be cautious when it's hot and humid. But for the most part, we shouldn't have to skip our workouts just because of the weather. Unless you are training for an upcoming afternoon competition, avoid exercising during the hottest parts of the day (between noon and 3pm). Early morning and evening workouts are recommended. The sun is not overhead, it's cooler, and generally breezier during these times. Second, dress for the weather. This may sound elementary, but wearing the standard cotton T-shirt is outdated. Now there are shirts specifically designed for hot weather since they pull sweat away from the body. These shirts are made of synthetic fabrics and are sold under the names of Capilene, CoolMax, and OmniDry. They are relatively inexpensive, attractive and comfortable. Third, drink up. Most people think that replenishing fluids after exercising is enough. But, on days of hot and humid weather, drinking 1-2 glasses of water 30 minutes prior to the workout can help you avoid dehydration and any form of heat sickness. Good luck, and remember, sweating a lot during hard work is necessary to keep the body as cool as possible.

WFF hints: Farmacy Pro Power is a great power up or power down drink. You should also consider having Stardust2hydr8 on hand as well. Enjoy, and remember that WFF snackfoods serve to reduce inflammation not aggravate it as do meat and dairy products. So, play hard, eat well, and live long!

Wholefood Power of Dates!

Dates are a great source of dietary fiber. The American Cancer Society recommends that you consume 20-35 grams of dietary fiber a day. Dietary fiber comes in two forms – soluble and insoluble. Each serves a valuable function. Insoluble fiber increases the rate at which food moves through the digestive system. Soluble fiber may help control diabetes by decreasing elevated blood glucose levels. Soluble fiber also had been found to help lower serum cholesterol levels, particularly undesirable low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol. According to researchers at the University of Scranton, Scranton Pennsylvania, dates have the highest concentration of polyphenols among dried fruits. The findings of this research suggest that dried fruits should be a greater part of the diet as they are dense in phenol antioxidants and nutrients, most notably fiber.

Dates are one of the best natural sources of potassium. Potassium is an essential mineral your body needs to maintain muscle contractions including the vital heart muscle. Potassium also is needed to maintain a healthy nervous system and to balance the body’s metabolism. Since potassium is not stored in the body, and much is lost in perspiration, it must be continually replenished. As you consume potassium you excrete sodium, helping to keep blood pressure down.

Phi Plus is our most popular food of all – it is handcrafted from dozens of whole food ingredients especially Dates, and all of their wonderful health imparting properties.
